Does Rilassáre's alternative medicine replace traditional medicine?

No, alternative medicine is an adjunct to treatments the patient may be taking and is not contraindicated in any case due to its safety and lack of adverse reactions or effects. Alternative medicine helps strengthen your immune system and regulates your body's acidity for optimal function.

What is acid-alkaline balance?

Your blood needs the correct balance of acidic and alkaline (basic) compounds to function properly. This is called acid-alkaline balance. Your kidneys and lungs work to maintain acid-alkaline balance. Even small variations from the normal range can have significant effects on your vital organs. The level of acidity and alkalinity is measured on a pH scale. An increase in acidity causes pH levels to drop. An increase in alkalinity causes pH levels to rise.

When acid levels in the blood are too high, it's called acidosis. When your blood is too alkaline, it's called alkalosis. Respiratory acidosis and alkalosis are due to a problem with the lungs. Metabolic acidosis and alkalosis are due to a problem with the kidneys. Each of these conditions is caused by an underlying disease or disorder. Treatment depends on the cause. However, stress is a catalyst for an acidic body.

Respiratory acidosis

When you breathe, your lungs remove excess carbon dioxide from your body. When they can't do this, your blood and other fluids become too acidic, causing body acidity.

Symptoms of respiratory acidosis

Some of the symptoms may include fatigue, shortness of breath, and confusion.

Causes of respiratory acidosis

There are several different causes of respiratory acidosis, which may include:

  • Chest deformities or injuries
  • Chronic diseases of the lungs and airways
  • Excessive use of sedatives
  • Obesity
  • Stress at very high levels

Types of respiratory acidosis

Unfortunately, there are no noticeable symptoms of respiratory acidosis. This is primarily due to the fact that your blood gradually becomes acidic, and your kidneys adjust to compensate for the acidity levels, restoring your blood to a normal pH balance. However, excessive acidity can occur and your body can be almost completely damaged.

Acute respiratory acidosis occurs suddenly, and the kidneys do not have time to adapt to the acidity levels. Patients with acute respiratory acidosis may experience other illnesses resulting from the acute acidosis, which would cause the patient's condition to worsen.

Diagnosis of respiratory acidosis

A complete physical examination is required. Diagnostic tests and examinations may include:

  • Arterial blood gas test
  • Metabolic panel
  • Lung function test
  • Obesity
  • Chest x-ray

Treatment of respiratory acidosis

You need to see a doctor immediately to treat acute respiratory acidosis, as it can be a life-threatening condition. Treatment is directed at the cause. Bronchodilator medications can be given to correct some forms of airway obstruction. If your blood oxygen level is too low, you may need oxygen. Noninvasive positive airway pressure ventilation or a ventilator may be necessary.

To treat chronic respiratory acidosis, the underlying cause must be determined so that appropriate treatment can be implemented. The cause could be an organ deformity, an infection, or some type of inflammation. Each cause may require different treatment, ranging from antibiotics to a ventilator. In any case, if you smoke, you will be advised to quit, as it worsens acidosis.

Complications of respiratory acidosis

Respiratory acidosis is serious and requires immediate medical attention. Possible complications of untreated or inadequately treated respiratory acidosis include respiratory failure and organ failure. In both cases, the risk is life-threatening.

Prevention of respiratory acidosis

You can take steps to help prevent some of the conditions that lead to respiratory acidosis. Maintain a healthy weight. Take sedatives only under strict medical supervision and never combine them with alcohol. Avoid smoking. Routine preventive treatment to regulate your blood acidity is available at Rilassáre Stress Management Clinic.

Metabolic acidosis

Metabolic acidosis occurs when your body produces too much acid or when your kidneys can't eliminate it properly. Stress is a catalyst (accelerator) for your body's acid production.

Symptoms of metabolic acidosis

Some of the main symptoms may include rapid breathing, fatigue, and confusion.

Causes and types of metabolic acidosis

There are three main types of metabolic acidosis. Diabetic acidosis, or diabetic ketoacidosis, is a buildup of ketone bodies. This is most often due to uncontrolled type 1 diabetes. Hyperchloremic acidosis occurs when your body loses too much sodium bicarbonate, often after very severe diarrhea. Lactic acidosis is when too much lactic acid builds up. This can be due to:

  • Prolonged exercise
  • Lack of oxygen
  • Certain medications, including salicylates
  • Low blood sugar or hypoglycemia
  • Alcohol
  • Seizures
  • Insuficiencia hepática
  • Cancer
  • Nephropathy (kidney diseases)
  • Severe dehydration
  • Poisoning from taking too much aspirin, ethylene glycol, and methanol
  • High levels of stress

Diagnosis of metabolic acidosis

Some diagnostic tests may include serum electrolytes, urine pH, and arterial blood gases. Once acidosis is confirmed, other tests may be necessary to identify the underlying cause.

Treatment of metabolic acidosis

The underlying condition behind the acidosis must be treated. In some cases, sodium bicarbonate is prescribed to return the blood to a normal pH. Treatment at Rilassáre Stress Control Clinic helps you regulate your blood acidity through alternative medicine such as intravenous fluid therapy.

Complications of metabolic acidosis

En los casos graves reportados se puede provocar un shock y puede poner en peligro la vida.
